The Marching Aviators return to competition Saturday, Oct. 15 at Piqua High School, performing the group’s competition show, "From Dream to Dream." The band is competing in class AA in the Mid States Band Association circuit for the first time in several year.

The show, which tells the story of a little girl's dream world features many Butler High School students as soloists. Those featured soloists are senior Tatijana Hoskinson on flute, senior Brandon Fisher on alto saxophone, senior Jordan Tompkins on trumpet and senior Quinlan Knaup on mellophone.

Senior Drum Majors Nick Hughes and Khiarah Ruiz and Guard seniors Zolee Howard, Melanie Barrett and Natalie Baxter are student leaders for the talented group.

The band has competed three times so far this season.  At the Kings High School Band Invitational Sept. 10, the Marching Aviators received Best Visual Performance in Class AA, Best General Effect in Class AA, Best Music in Class AA, Best Percussion in Class AA and 1st Place in Class AA.

At the Tippecanoe Band Invitational Sept. 17, the group received Best Music in Class A, Best Percussion in Class A and 2nd Place in Class A.
