Advancing Student Achievement

The Board of Education serves as the governing body for Vandalia-Butler City Schools. Five community members elected to serve for four-year terms comprise the district’s Board.

Board members approve the policies and programs that bolster classroom learning and support the district’s athletics and arts programs. They are additionally responsible for adopting calendars and approving contracts and other resolutions that shape the district’s operations. Their decisions ultimately affect the district’s long-term success and, by extension, the entire community.

Board of Education Meetings

The Board of Education generally meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month for regular business meetings and on varying dates for work session meetings. Regular business meetings are typically held at Smith Middle School (3625 Little York Road) and workshop sessions are typically held at the Board of Education office (306 South Dixie Drive). Meeting times, dates, and locations are subject to change; call (937) 415-6400 to verify dates and times.

Time is set aside at every regular business meeting to ask questions or comment on district policies, procedures, and events.
