Equipping students for the twenty-first century

Education in the twenty-first century demands a forward-thinking understanding of technology and a cooperative approach to integrate technology with curriculum. Vandalia-Butler City Schools boasts an exceptional level of synergy between its Curriculum and Technology departments.

As a result, teachers and students benefit from a first-class curriculum design that is backed by a Technology Department infused with private-sector experience.

The Vandalia-Butler City Schools Technology Department supports the district by developing, maintaining, and improving an ongoing district-wide Technology Plan that seeks to equip students with experience using real-world technology tools and workflow collaboration.

Along with supporting the day-to-day business operations of the district, the Technology Department answers the technology goals of the curriculum agenda, supports the individual classroom needs of teachers, and maintains a sustainable operation with a low total cost of ownership.

The Technology Department also participates in sourcing alternative funds, new technology testing, staff training through the district's Institute for Excellence, and selected student mentoring.
