The district maintains several active committees that provide important oversight, assist with decision-making, and help find innovative ways to drive out cost without compromising quality.

Insurance Committee

Maintaining a quality, cost-effective health insurance program requires constant vigilance to ensure a healthy balance between benefit levels and costs. The district’s Insurance Committee is charged with upholding this balance.

On a yearly basis, the committee evaluates the district’s benefit options to ensure employees are receiving the best, most cost-effective plan available. The committee holds the authority to change plans if the change does not reduce benefit levels or incur significantly higher costs.

Committee members are also responsible for helping to educate employees about the plan and upcoming changes in healthcare laws.

The committee formed in 1988 and became part of the negotiated agreement in 1998. The following individuals serve on the committee:

Financial Advisory Council

The Financial Advisory Council assists the superintendent and treasurer in analyzing, auditing, and communicating the district’s finances. The council meets quarterly to discuss the state of the district’s finances and address upcoming challenges. Representatives from the school district, the Board of Education, and the community serve on the board.
