Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible during any grading period, a student athlete must be enrolled in school and receive passing grades in subjects that count for five credits per year toward graduation unless the student is entering ninth grade.

Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0. If an athlete is eligible under the OHSAA guidelines but falls under a 2.0 GPA for the preceding quarter, the athlete can attend a mandatory morning student table three times a week. Failure to attend will lead toward a denial to participate.

Student athletes in grades 7 and 8 must be enrolled in school and receive passing grades in 75 percent of the subjects in which they are enrolled in the grading period immediately preceding participation. Students who turn 15 years of age prior to August 1 are ineligible to participate, including in contests prior to the opening of the school year.

To participate in an extra-curricular event, a student must be in school at least half a day. Students signing in after 11:30 a.m. will not be eligible to participate in an evening event for that day.
