Dear Smith Families,
I am extremely excited to continue as the principal at Smith Middle School for the 2019-20 school year. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and provide you information about my background.
My name is Ryan Rogers and I am a graduate of Tippecanoe High School and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Med/Biology from Bowling Green State University. I received my teaching certification from the University of Dayton where I also have a Master’s Degree in Education and my principal’s license. This is my 26th year in education as either a teacher or an administrator. My entire 11 years as a teacher were spent at L.T. Ball Junior High in Tipp City where I taught Earth Science and Physical Science. My 15 years as an administrator have been in two districts. I was the principal for Dixie Middle School for 1 year before accepting the position of assistant principal at Butler High School. I held an assistant principal title for the majority of 11 years at Butler High School, but during that time I was also the athletic director for 4 years, and at the end of October (2016), principal of Smith Middle School.
My wife Rochelle and I have been married for 27 amazing years and we have three sons. Michael is a Butler High School graduate and is currently in his final year at the University of Cincinnati where he is studying Finance/Accounting. Cade is in his third year at the University of Findlay where he is studying Pre-Vet/Animal Science and playing football. Austin is a senior at Tippecanoe High School and runs cross country, track, and swims. I love to spend time with my family and watch the many activities that they are involved in throughout the year.
The staff at Smith Middle School is comprised of excellent teachers. We will continue to do our best to provide your child with the best education possible. When making decisions, the Smith staff will always keep in mind the best interest of kids. Each year we ask the students to follow three basic principles: Come to school every day; Try your hardest in all that you do and be kind to everyone.
Education of children is a partnership between home and school. I encourage you to become an active participant in your child’s education. Please contact me at 415-7000 or at Ryan.firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
