Kindergarten is a special time for both you and your child. Included here is information to help you prepare for that big first day of school.
Getting Ready for Kindergarten
Is your child ready for kindergarten? What will she learn in class? What can you do to help him prepare for the first day? The answers to these questions and more are answered in “Getting Ready for Kindergarten,” a booklet created by Vandalia-Butler City Schools for our kindergarten parents. Whether this is your first kindergartner or your fifth, “Getting Ready for Kindergarten” provides a wealth of information and tips to help you and your child get ready for school.
Passport to Safety
At the beginning of each school year, registered kindergartners attend Passport to Safety, a program that helps children become familiar with the school experience and school safety. During the program, children receive information and instruction on making friends; using good health habits; avoiding strangers and practicing traffic, bus, pedestrian, fire and pool safety. They also get an introduction to school.
