Senator Peggy Lehner Honors Butler Bowling State Champions Senator Lehner Honors Bowling Team

COLUMBUS—State Senator Peggy Lehner (R-Kettering) on Wednesday honored the Vandalia-Butler High School Varsity Bowling Team for winning the OHSAA Division I State Championship in 2019, securing their school’s first-ever state championship.

"I am pleased to recognize such a talented group of young men," said Senator Lehner. "I am thrilled to see when student-athletes take their school work as seriously as they take their role in sports, and this team has represented excellence in both areas, making our community very proud."

Community Input on Education for Children with Disabilities Sought

(Vandalia-Butler) Vandalia-Butler City School district officials will be holding a special meeting April 23, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Board of Education office, 500 S. Dixie Drive, to gain input from community members on educational services for children with disabilities.

The Vandalia-Butler Foundation, primarily through its VISIONS Endowment Fund, has awarded $14,225 in educational grants to support such innovative initiatives as the launch of a biomedical sciences program, Muse Machine artists-in-residence and an exercise program designed to develop healthy habits in children.

In addition, Butler High School received a $3,440 grant to install a logo and the name of the school on the front façade. A commemorative plaque will pay tribute to the class of 1980, which funded half of the project with a $1,720 class reunion gift that was matched by VISIONS.

Annual MD Fall Feast MD Feast

The MD classrooms at Vandalia-Butler put on their Fall Feast every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  The students spent all day Monday and Tuesday morning cooking and preparing to welcome all the guests.  We feel this is just a small "Thank you" for everything that our administration and staff at Vandalia-Butler Schools do for us and our students so that we can provide them with the best education we can!  We are a big family at Vandalia-Butler, and this is such an excellent way for us to start our Thanksgiving Break and the season of giving!
