Two BHS Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

Congratulations to Leigh Harden and Clair Long on being named National Merit Scholarship finalists.  These amazing Butler seniors now have the chance to receive up to $2,500 in scholarship money through the National Merit Scholarship program.

Harden and Long were named semi-finalists earlier this year after scoring in the top one percent of U.S. high school seniors who took the 2014 Preliminary SAT (PSAT).

Merit Scholars are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.  This year’s National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July.  These scholarship recipients will join more than 315,000 other distinguished young people who have earned the Merit Scholar title.
