8th Graders Test Designs With Egg Drop

8th Graders Test Designs With Egg Drop

Eighth grade science students put their projects to the test as they dropped raw eggs from a 21 foot drop, courtesy of a fire truck Tuesday, May 24.

The students designed their containers to protect the eggs in the fall and on the landing.

The students had to sketch a design, create the product, measure the cost effectiveness of the design to stay within the limits of their “cost,” make predictions and adjust their original design after evaluating the overall effectiveness of the end product.

The goals of the projects fourth quarter was that students had the opportunity to experiment, experience success and failure, and learn and grow from each experience within the safety of the middle school classroom.
