COLUMBUS—State Senator Peggy Lehner (R-Kettering) on Wednesday honored the Vandalia-Butler High School Varsity Bowling Team for winning the OHSAA Division I State Championship in 2019, securing their school’s first ever state championship.
"I am pleased to recognize such a talented group of young men," said Senator Lehner. "I am thrilled to see when student athletes take their school work as seriously as they take their role in sports, and this team has represented excellence in both areas, making our community very proud."
Drew Sacks was also recognized as the 2019 OHSAA Division I State Individual Champion, becoming the first ever two time state champion in bowling since the sport was sanctioned in Ohio in 2007.
