The Vandalia-Butler City School District has made huge strides in providing the safest learning environment possible for students and staff with the implementation of the School Safety Officer program in 2018. As a retired police officer, William Wertz, Director of Attendance, Enrollment and Safety, oversees the District's SSO program. He brings over twenty-seven years of experience in many aspects of law enforcement and emergency response training.
